Groups
Service charge has been removed from our account.
Rod explained where the treasury was at. We have $45 in Prudent Reserve $53.20 in T-Shirts and $47.94 in general. Many Groups attending expressed 'checks in the mail'!
Ask Kevin what I didn't put in the minutes about him! ;-)
I believe I have most of the groups of the Area correct at World. The Saturday morning and Friday 9:30 meetings are not registered at all with World. So I did nothing with them.

Rod is done as Treasurer. We have to elect a new treasurer at the next Area meeting or we will not have one. Please be responsible and actively try to find a qualified addict to take this position.
There was much discussion on the phone number. The number we've been handing out is not giving out our meeting lists. I contacted a member of the phone comm. and this is there response:
"Gus, Kevin here. I was sure that I had sent the phone service info for our region and Iowa's. But after reading your post and calling the service I found out that it is not there. Some where the ball got dropped. I talked to Danny and he told me that we should have a new region list by Wed. our Thurs.. I will then make sure that the phone service gets it this time. Iowa's too. Since I started to write this e mail I called the service back and got an e-mail address. So I brought up the region list and cut and pasted it and sent it to the answering service so it should be on there tomorrow. I hope. Maybe the next day. Man this cyber stuff sure can save some time. Till another time, Kevin."
Hopefully that will get us started. We also talked about getting contact numbers and the requirements for that. We decided to take back to the Groups and get a list of the addict who would be willing to do that. Another couple of thing we talked about was using a cell phone and how would we screen calls.
Electric Candlelight wanted to be changed to an open meeting. The Area web page doesn't list Open/Closed, the Region didn't even have them listed (problem solved), and the World already had them listed at Open.
Hastings needs speakers every other Wed. Nite at the Regional Center. 1 yr. clean is recommended. If interested please call James at 402-462-5273. Please pass this on!
The Area archives are now being stored at my house.

Kevin volunteered to get the pizza ordered for the next Regional meeting. We will put out a can for freewill donations. We are looking into putting on a dance following the January 13th, 2001Region Meeting. We are checking into Fonner Park, Giltner, Blessed Sacrament, and the Liederkranz. Angela will have to be got a hold of to find out the location of the meeting. We talked about 21st Century Sound, Moonlight Karoke, and Dusty. We discussed food and pop. Maybe make it a theme dance.
It looks as though we will get the bid for the 2001 convention!! We need lotsa help on this everyone. The next meeting will be Saturday at the Region Meeting, at St. Marks Church, 5th and Burlington, Hastings. The comm. will meet at 2:00pm. The next meeting will be this Sunday at 1:00 at the Country Kitchen in Grand Island.
There is a new meeting, a basic text study, that meets on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Francis Hospital Conference Room 3B. They would like your support and if you have an extra Basic text that you would like to donate, that too would be appreciated.
